ode to kyle

He's in Boston for an ESL conference and a little sightseeing on the side, although I don't know if the side trip he has planned to swing up to Maine for can be counted as a "little sightseeing." I am so jealous. Ever since that movie with Steve Carell as that widower who goes on a family vacation to Maine, I have my sights set on that place. But good for Kyle. He'll take pictures for me so that will be enough for now.
We miss him like crazy. Yesterday Noah said: "I lost my friend! I miss Daddy!"
I have resorted to desperate measures for entertaining myself in his absense. On Tuesday night I called American Idol for two hours. So embarrassing I know. I finally got through at 10:55 and voted 10 times. You'll have to guess who my favorite is.
Other confessions: since there is noone to impress with my superb homemaking skills, I don't use them. I haven't cleaned in the past few days (it's a disaster zone) And as for the cooking, well, poor Noah. I just went to grocery store finally and he got excited because he could have milk with his cereal again. So I haven't spent much time in the kitchen. Unless you count the cookies that I put in the oven last night from frozen premade dough, after I put the boys to bed. They say every man needs a good woman in his life. But apparently it works the other way too. I don't know how well I (or my boys) would survive without Kyle around. So, husband, if you take the time out of your New England adventures to read this, we are kind of a mess here without you, so come home soon!

That is so me when Michael isn't around. It's actually nice not to have to do much work for meals, but it's sure better when he's around. :)

What a pic! Love it. You all look great even if you are pining for Kyle. Isn't it great to love someone enough that you are homesick when they are away? We love you all that way...

Housework is totally overrated! You are such a cute mommy.

PS Boston is in Massachusetts not Maine.

Don't worry everyone, I know my geography :) The crazy guy is planning to leave Boston, Massachusetts and go up to Maine for a day trip. But thanks Crystal for the clarification:)

I LOVE THAT NOAH SAYS "HE LOST HIS FRIEND!" You are a great Mom and housewife. You prioritize the most important thing, playing with the boys. (And calling American Idol ten times is right up there too!) Ya, it's hard to want to clean the house for two people who just assume have toys strung everywhere anyway. I've told you this before, but on a good day, my cleaning is from 4pm to 5pm and i'm usually doing the finishing touches when "he" walks in the door. Thank goodness we have someone to come home, we may never clean if we didn't!

AAH!!! Love it! I too don't know what I would do without Ryan. Especially since he feeds both children while getting for work himself, while I try to drag my sorry but out of my bed. Aren't hubbies great?!

Kate, I just saw the picture of you and your kids and it made me really happy! You guys are the best- the boys keep getting bigger and bigger. I can't wait to see them next time. I also can't wait to see you and Karl pretty soon. You are the best sister ever. i <3 U

Oh I understood and I'm kinda jealous too. Maine is definitely on my to do list. Boston is also on that list. I love the history and the lobster!
