Noah eats
Noah seems to be getting hungrier every day and every night. I don't know what happened. He used to be "sleeping through the night", or at least only waking up once. Then, about three weeks ago, suddenly he turned into this crazy nocturnal creature. I don't know anything about parenting or babies, but I do have a couple of theories: Growth spurt. Either that or my milk turned all watery and weird overnight. That whole hunger thing, combined with his obsession with big people food, got us to break out the rice cereal. We got the ok from our pediatrician (because we are first-time parents, and I think that's what first-timers usually do before making big life changing decisions like this one) and then the other night we mixed up a batch and he went to town. I think little Noah was surprised. On a side note, I have this habit of letting him lick on my spoon during those meals when he's on my lap, after he starts to get fussy. He never gets much from those spoon licks, mostly just something to wake up his little tastebuds and keep him from crying. So on our first rice cereal night when we let him have the spoon, with more than crumbs on it, and then gave it to him again and again--wow. He was pretty thrilled. For the record, he is not sleeping through the night again yet, but I guess his happiness from his new little treat is worth it.

I just love that you're using a big metal spoon.
Oh my gosh! Ty is having the same problem. He was sleeping beautifully until a few days ago, and all of a sudden he's up many times a night again! It's so sad. He had rice cereal for the first time last night, and it didn't go over very well. He choked and gagged on it and just wasn't very happy. We'll try again today. Oh, and I used a big metal spoon too! Maybe a baby spoon would be better, huh?
P.S. I fed him while he was in his exer-saucer too! No high chair yet!
It looks like you are doing a great job. They eat so much as babies. Chloe eats three times as much as Bella. It is amazing!
I love it! I can see you got the exersaucer! Isabelle has really started taking to food too. we haven't started rice cereal yet, but I feel it coming soon. She always grabs my plate, cup, and food. She chowed down on a saltine the other night. She grabbed it from my plate, and I didn't notice until she had sucked the corners off.
He is getting so big! Probably on a growth spurt, or maybe teething is already rearing its ugly head. That's when my kids stopped sleeping through the night. I'm glad he enjoyed his rice cereal so much. Looks like you have a good eater!
