Being a stay-at-home mom with one child, I am running out of activities to keep Noah entertained. There's only so many minutes in a day that Noah can spend in his exersaucer, as much as he loves it. So I have been searching for fresh ideas. I have a cool book called "365 games smart babies play" and I have been looking online at babycenter.com for things to keep us busy. So we have done a couple of fun things this week that I think are worth mentioning. We did art the other day. No matter that I don't have crayons or other suitable art materials for babies. We used Sharpies, and I think it worked quite well.

Then, today we played the Hat Game. I collected random objects around the house that we could put on our heads. Sounds a little lame, but it was really a good time. Noah loved it. Here are some pictures. (a little disclaimer: I know I should not be putting the Bumbo seat on the bathroom counter. I feel bad about potentially endangering my child, but really, I never left his side. And I won't do it again.)
Happy birthday bag hat

Basket hat and baby wipes container hat

Diaper hat

traditional baseball hat

...and our favorite, the striped pants hat

Lampshades work well too.
So if any of you have good ideas for baby fun, please let me know. Otherwise, we will just keep playing this hat game every day until he's 5.

I have no suggestions for a baby game, but boy is he CUTE!!!
I love it! I've never done the hat game. We'll have to try it. One thing I do with Isabelle, is we run a race. She lays on her back and I grab her ankles and move her legs fast and slow like she's running a race. I, of course, also have to narrate. You can do marching, kicking, etc. She loves it. That's how we've gotten the most giggles from her. I don't judge you for your bumbo up on the counter. :)
I can't keep myself from these pictures of happy Noah playing the Hat Game. What a face! What a smile!
Remember that I told you how my Swedish grandma wore underpants on her head when she cleaned the house? Maybe she was just playing the Hat Game and we didn't know it.
I love you all so much.
That is too funny! I'm trying to remember what I use to do when it was just Ethan! Somehow the second one adds a little more craziness in your day. All I can say is enjoy it as much as you can now!
That's a game off of baby center! I saw it the other day and was going to try it! Look like lots of fun! I bought some bubbles today per another baby center game I saw. We'll see how he likes those. Also, one of his favorite things now is to shower with me! I thought he would cry, but he loved it! He just really likes water. BTW...we always put the Bumbo on the kitchen counter while we're cooking. He likes to be able to see what's going on. We should probably stop now that he can almost get himself out of the Bumbo.
He's so big! I love the pants on head pic.
The expression on his face in the drawing picture is so freaking cute I can't stand it. I've seen that face a few times in pics or in real life I think, and it is seriously awesome. He is adorable, but I think you know that.
We have those striped pants, got them before we knew what gender we were having with Evelyn. They are dang cute, and cuter on Noah's head. Baby games, hmmm. What I do everyday with my girls, that they like: reading books, singing silly songs (love this, and it takes them a while to catch on), watching a Baby Einstein movie, pretending to 'cook' (I let them get into safe kitchen cupboards and play with pots and pans, give them something to stir with, etc.), play outside, take walks. I guess I don't really play games, just fill the day with different things. And it is different with two kids.
Noah is so cute! I love the pants hat! We've got to play that game with Eli - he would love it. We get lots of laughs from Eli by being silly - like "eating" one of his toys or fingers, "chasing" him (stomping, or making a lot of noise), etc. One game I want to try is doing fingerpaint with pudding or jello. You can color it with food dye. That way you don't have to worry if they eat it.
