Half of a year

Jake turns six months this week. Here's what our little half-year-old has been up to.

He has been busy getting cuter and cuter everyday.
He is learning to crawl. It's just a little army crawl, but he is definitely moving purposefully. Noah and I get down on the floor and hold out our arms and then celebrate when Jake crawls to us. I am happy, because now he can get to the toys and assorted items on the floor that interest him. And this gives me more of a reason to keep the floor picked up.

He is learning to eat. A couple weeks ago I tried to introduce rice cereal to the little guy, but he thought it was disgusting. The other night I tried again, and he went wild. I've never seen him so excited about something. He was practically lapping it out of the bowl, like he was a starving little animal. Funny. On a side note, this is a picture of Auntie Lars introducing another food, she kept trying to put new food into his mouth everytime I turned my back! He was loving it. (And in case you wonder, Lauren, Jake definitely appreciates you!)

He has been an all-star traveler. He spent most of the past month in a car seat! We spent a week in Idaho, another weekend in Provo, and a long weekend in California. And look at these smiles.
He is learning to some good self-defense techniques. Sometimes the brotherly love gets a little intense:)

But for the most part, Jake is all smiles when Noah is around. Noah can make him laugh pretty easily, and they are getting to be friends. When napping Jake makes his first wake-up sounds, Noah drops whatever he is doing, yells giddily: "JAKIE!" and runs to his crib. So Jake is definitely loved by his brother. And everyone else for that matter!

He is so cute and good-natured! What a doll! That's pretty funny about how he devoured the rice cereal this time. I guess it pays to wait until they're ready? He is also AMAZINGLY advanced in his motor skills. :) Seriously, army crawling? That's so fun.

Katie! Your boys are so adorable! I wish we lived closer. :( They are growing up so fast. I would love to see Noah and Ivy play together. Ivy was a bully last time they were together but I'm sure Noah could hold his own now! Love you and miss you!
