Halloween

The King

We went to Kyle's school for Halloween. Kids from the community came in costume and trick-or-treated around the school. Noah was the hit and I'm not just saying that because I am his mother. He won a prize for his costume later at a Halloween carnival. I was so proud because my mom and I made it (and no sewing required, thanks to the glue gun). But of course the child inside the costume was what really made the costume. He was walking around singing into the microphone and working the crowds at the high school, making all the girls swoon.

(If you look closely you can see his chest hair.)

He had to stop and read his guitar book (he actually picked this one off of the shelf) to brush up on his chords.
All of the festivities really wore him out.

The aftermath. I was paranoid about using the spray hair dye so we brainstormed alternatives, like chocolate frosting, eye shadow, and pudding. At the last minute I went with mascara, because we ran out of time to implement any of our ideas. It ended up being the perfect dye. It didn't rub off on anything and it washed out easily. It was fun to see Noah with black hair, but I missed my little blond baby. This picture is actually the aftermath on day 2 (we tried the black canned hair spray dye stuff because I used up all my mascara on him the first time). It was a mess, the bath water was black and it left a ring around the tub. So if you ever need to dye a blondie, I say go with the mascara.

Noah had a back-up costume if the homemade Elvis one didn't turn out. It would have been cute too, except that I don't think he would have been happy for very long, he got pretty hysterical after a couple of minutes of wearing that big thing on his head. But here is what we would have seen if he was King of the Jungle instead of the King.
