three success stories

1. Our house is like the Bermuda Triangle for pacifiers. Which is a problem since Noah needs one for a peaceful sleep. I was ecstatic when a made a discovery on Monday. I was in our closet, looking in a big storage bin for a purse to take on my anniversary date. My purse wasn't there, but there were...four pacifiers. It was like I hit the jackpot. It makes sense to me now why Noah has been getting all fussy when he was playing in the closet with the bin. I thought he was just smashing his fingers in the bin but the real problem must have been that when he threw his pacifiers down in there he couldn't get them out. Well, maybe the smashed fingers also hurt.

2. I was stupid enough to download some music from a really random website and ignore the threats from my computer warning me of the possibility of a malicious download. So immediately my computer started freaking out with some scary virus response lab thing coming up telling me I was infected by 20 different very dangerous viruses. But I did some online research on my inlaw's computer and by followed some directions, I removed the virus and saved the day.

3. I got a job. Part-time 15 hours a week at a child photography place. My secret dream which some of you already know is to be a national geographic photographer. This might be a stretch, considering I am a pretty crappy photographer and I have no photography training. So I'll try my hand in a photography studio with their fancy equipment and we'll see if I can make my photography dreams come true. Plus a little extra money never hurt anything. Well except for maybe my relationship with little Noah. It is hard to leave him. I counted up the hours I'd be working each week, and each month, and then multiplied that by 3 (for 3 months). Then I subtracted the number of hours Noah sleeps during the time I work, and I came up with about 120 hours. Which is only 6 days for the rest of the year, and that sounds doable. I don't know how full time moms do it, or dads for that matter. But because of my job, I have been cherishing my Noah time more than ever, so all in all, it isn't a bad deal.

I always find it so funny where things turn up, but I don't think I have ever had four at once.:)

Congrats on the job! I am alway amazed at women that can ballance children and work.

Thanks for the success stories. I have faith that you will handle your new job with aplomb (wee! I used a big girl word!). After all, you are a supreme finder of pacifers and a computer whiz, right?

My love to you and the great guys - big and little - who share your life...

Oh my gosh! The binkie thing...so funny! I always find them all grouped in the same place too. Feast or famine! Congratulations on the job! I bet you will have a blast!

I love that you counted up the hours! It's a very cute mommy thing to do.

You're job sounds fun! I, too, want to be a National Geographic photog. Maybe we can work together. :)

You are so lucky to find a part time job with a photographer. Hopefully you can learn from them. I'd really like to work with an established photographer to improve my skills as well - but no such luck so far.
