Waiting...

So at our last doctor's appointment, Dr. Yamamoto said we are on the "launching pad" now, and all we have to do is wait. I asked Dr. what exactly it is I am waiting for, and he said: "For the pain." How pleasant. Well so far, I've escaped the pain. People are so nice to call to check on me and ask how I am doing, and my response is always the same: I feel good, almost like I am not even pregnant. I've had several mothers tell me I have to start feeling a lot worse before the baby can come out of me. So we're waiting....! It's funny to be getting to the point where I am actually hoping to feel pain! There's something weird about that. We do manage to stay pretty busy with all the baby preparations. We've done a little nesting, taken some funny pregnant pictures, and made a lot of time for laziness while we still can. So waiting isn't so bad, and as they say, good things come to those who wait...

Go Aztecs

We love Mark Keppel! When there is a Varsity home football game, Kyle and I sit up in the box. Kyle is the announcer, and I work the scoreboard. It's our favorite Friday date night activity! Kyle gets to watch football and eat nachos and I get to learn about football and try to get Kyle to say silly things on the microphone. And we get paid for these dates, so that's another reason to love it!



Kyle coaches the freshmen team, and so now that I am on maternity leave, I get to go to his afternoon games. It's fun to be a coach's wife. I got to ride on the bus with the team to the last game, but the whole time I was having scary daydreams about what if my water broke on the bus in front of all those teenage boys. In case you are wondering, I did make it to the game, through the game, and back home without having a labor crisis and making the bus driver take me to the hospital. I also made it to this week's game, and we are hoping that by the next game I'll make it with a new little fan. That might be pushing it, but when you are hardcore football fans like the Campbells, you do crazy things for the game :)

Kyle's team did the sweetest thing yesterday--they threw Kyle a surprise baby shower! After practice, he came into a classroom and the whole team was there with pizza and cake and stuff. They all signed a card, and the boys said some funny things like: "I see you've been working at it" and "Congrats on your future football player" and "I hope you have a great time. You are such a good thing to our team." It was sweet to see how much the kids love him. He's the best coach in the world. I mean, just look at the way he is holding that guy's head in the picture down there. Wow.

Anniversary #1

It's been a whole year! That went fast. October 6 was the big day. Being conference weekend, we spent most of the day in front of the tv--it's amazing how exhausting that can be (plus that whole almost 9 months pregnant thing). When Kyle got back from priesthood session, it was late and we were both pretty beat. So instead of celebrating with a night out in Hollywood like we had planned, we found better things to do. We went down the street to this little Italian place for dinner and then we headed to Wal-Mart (my favorite place in the world) and picked out a puzzle and came home and put it together. Here are a few pictures of our big night.

The Office

In honor of The Office season premiere, we threw an Office party. Kyle came back from St. George for the occasion. We invited some friends and dressed up to celebrate. The two highlights were seeing Kyle in Dwight glasses and our tasty Jell-O Stapler concoction. As for the show, I love that Michael hit Meredith with the car, that Toby won the race, and that Andy had to tape himself to avoid chafing (and it didn't work). I decided that when I am going into labor, I will bring Seasons 1 and 2 of The Office to make it the experience as painless as possible. If that isn't enough, there's always the epidural.

Greyhound bus love

Kyle just got offered a job at Snow Canyon High School in St. George, Utah, he accepted, and started work up there on Monday. Tonight, he is on a Greyhound bus (yes, people do ride those things) back to me. He sat at the bus stop at midnight for an hour waiting for the bus to come and pick him up. Finally they came and got him, and so now he will be on there all night long with the crazy bus riding people. Just so he can turn around in two days and drive back up, and then repeat the whole thing next week! That's love.

So our life is crazy. The next month will be an adventure for us--it's the first month of his new job, the last month of my pregnancy, we will pack up and start over in UT, we will celebrate our first anniversary, and we will figure out how to take care of a baby! We really don't know what we are doing, but that is part of the fun. Back when I used to freak out a lot about life, my dad always told me to just relax and enjoy the ride. Good advice. I have noticed lately that it is a lot better when you have someone funny to go along with!

BYU Football

Look at all these BYU fans together.
My family came into town (not to see me) for the game. BYU made a good show but they didn't win. Next time. We still had fun. Notice my dad is skinny. I am not so much. My feet (I wish I had a picture of those) got very fat and swollen at the game. And some UCLA fans offered us "Mormon Beer". (water). Kyle tried to take it but they weren't really interested in sharing. Our seats happened to be with Kyle's friends/fam who for the most part, happened to be UCLA fans, so we didn't take pictures with them. We love BYU.

We went to St. George to check it out. We might end up living there in a few months after the baby comes. We drove around and looked at houses, and realized that people who live in California are rich or crazy. The houses were cheap and nice. We even found an advertisement for a home that was

"buy one, get one free".

This picture was taken at Kyle's parent's house. We brought Jessica up to introduce her to Utah. Ryan and Kari came down from Eagle Mountain and Christian and Lauren came down from Provo, so it was quite the party.

This is the dreads and hat combo that Kyle wore back in the day when he stepped off the plane to greet his family after his mission. And Ryan is just resting in between bites. We all ate a lot of food and watched a lot of football. And we also performed a lot of operations on patients with the Wii.
